    Zubeen Pledges Not To Shave Till CAA Is Withdrawn

    Stage is my weapon to fight for the interest of the Assamese community: Zubeen Garg

    Popular singer and heartthrob of young generation Zubeen Garg, who has been vocal against the newly enacted Citizenship Amendment Act, said that he would not shave till the act is withdrawn.

    During a cultural show in Bohori in Assam’s Barpeta district on January 18th, 2020, Zubeen said, “I am getting old. Beards turned grey. But, I will not shave until the Citizenship Amendment Act is withdrawn for the interest of the Assamese community.”

    Besides, the singer, while reiterating his decision to continue to fight against the act, said, “Stage is my weapon to fight for the interest of the Assamese community. I am not from any political party and I’ll never join any party in future.”

    While condemning the statements of the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other ministers over the act issue, Zubeen said, “They are giving different statements on the issue. But, what we are saying is right.”

    “BJP has only money and nothing else. What do Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah know about us and the land?” he questioned. He said that he does not want to go back to Mumbai. “I want to stay here with you all,” he added.
