    Zubeen Garg Stable; Good Wishes Pour In From Friends And Fans

    Hundreds of fans gathered outside the hospital and prayed for his speedy recovery

    Singing sensation Zubeen Garg, who was hospitalised after he fell unconscious amid an event in Guwahati, is stable now. The singer almost collapsed during a music launch event at Gauhati Town Club on the evening of February 28th, 2020, but other attendees of the event came to his rescue.

    The singer was rushed to the Nemcare Hospital in the city and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The doctors told Time8 that he is out of danger and that they will keep him under observation as a part of the treatment. 

    The event was for the launch of singer Anurag Saikia’s Project Borgeet audio CD. His fans expressed their concerns and prayers for him as soon as the news spread. Hundreds of fans gathered outside the hospital and prayed for his speedy recovery.

    Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal too prayed for his speedy recovery. Colleagues and friends from the Assamese film industry also visited him at the hospital.

    “Doctors have confirmed that relentless work and travel has made him exhausted. With a rest for couple of days, he will be fit and fine (sic),” according to a statement issued by

    Zubeen has an enormous contribution to the Assamese music industry and even acted in Assamese films.  His last Assamese movie Kanchenjunga, which was released on September 6th, 2019, earned Rs 5.12 crore while his earlier film Mission China, which was released on September 8th, 2017, earned Rs 5 crore.

    Zubeen forayed into the professional music scene with his debut album Anamika which was released in 1992. He later released several superhit albums including Maya, Asha and Pakhi.

    The music director and film-maker have been vocal against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act and is leading a movement against it.

    Zubeen is also popular in Bollywood for his superhit song Ya Ali from Gangster. He has also rendered tracks in films like Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Krrish 3, Oh My God!, Namastey London, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom to name a few. He has also lent his voice to several popular Bengali songs.
