    Woman From Assam Rescued By Delhi Police From Metro Station

    The rescued woman is staying at the shelter home Nirmala Chhaya in Tihar Jail

    A woman from Barpeta district of Assam was rescued by the Special Police Unit for North Eastern Region (SPUNER) team of Delhi Police from Azadpur Metro Station. The lady has been identified as Rafika Hassin (21). She hails from Chenamari area of Barpeta.

    According to Delhi Police, the woman came to the capital with one Rakiv Islam a week ago. “She ran away from him after doubting his intention but didn’t know where to go,” mentioned SPUNER, Delhi Police in a press communiqué.

    On receipt of information through Helpline 1093 on September 17th, 2019, SPUNER team rushed to the Azadpur Metro Station and rescued the woman.

    The SPUNER team with the help of Gritashri Bhuyan (DPNER) contacted her brother in Assam who will come to Delhi to take her home.

    At present, she is staying at the shelter home Nirmala Chhaya in Tihar Jail. SI Amarjit, Shift I/c, ASI Santaram and Ct (Dvr) Mohit Singh were part of the rescue team.
