Originally written and recorded by Solomon Linda under the title ‘Mbube’ for the South African Gallo Record Company in 1939, the song became every child’s favourite tune to hum.

    In 1961, it became a number one hit in the USA as adapted in English with the best-known version by the doo-wop group ‘The Tokens’.

    In the video, Dhrubajyoti can be heard giving background music ( A-weema-weh) as Anukriti belts out the lyrics with elan in her beautiful voice.

    Well, let us tell you that the song was not just a pastime for the two as the father-daughter duo have channels on YouTube. Anukriti has 1.05K subscribers on YouTube.
