The Uttar Pradesh(UP) police have arrested UP’s ‘most wanted’ fugitive from Guwahati on October 22nd, 2019. The wanted criminal has been identified as Rupesh Singh alias Rupesh Seth.
Guwahati Police Commissioner, Deepak Kumar informed that Rupesh had been evading arrest for the past two years and had taken shelter in a remote village under Khetri PS of the city. He was running a poultry farming business here.
“We were informed that a team from UP police reached the city and nabbed the most wanted criminal. He originally hails from Banaras and runs a jewelry business. The Banaras counterparts have informed us that 54 were been registered against him under various sections of murder, abduction, loot and so on,” said Deepak Kumar while addressing the media.
The CP further informed that the UP police had announced a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.
The incident came to light after Singh’s family registered a kidnapping case with the local police soon after his arrest here and whereabouts of Singh were unfurled.
