Special arrangements are being made for the differently-abled persons joining the 71st Republic Day celebrations at the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara playground this January 26th, 2020.
The Kamrup Metro, Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu informed that a written application has been dashed off to the district social welfare department to arrange wheel-chairs and other facilities so that the invited differently-abled persons can heartily enjoy the celebrations.
In a first, the marching contingent at the Khanapara field will be led by a team of Assam Rifles from Meghalaya this year.
To mark the celebrations, all schools have been directed to conduct quiz and debate competitions by the district administration.
For smooth functioning of the celebrations, a three-tier security blanket has been put into place besides installation of CCTV cameras.
