    Seven Arrested For Attacking Assam Cops In Hajo

    The women police personnel were also allegedly assaulted by the assailants

    Police on October 18th, 2019 arrested seven assailants in Dampur of Hajo town in Assam’s Kamrup district on charges of physically assaulting a team of cops here.

    The seven of them were arrested during an operation launched under the leadership of Office-in-Charge of Hajo Police Station, Bhaskar Barman. A massive manhunt is on to nab other assailants who were involved with the incident.

    The arrestees have been identified as Ansar Ullah, Ramzan Ali, Dhan Ali, Mintu Hussain, and Anowar Hussain.

    It may be mentioned here based on a complaint, a police team on October 17th, 2019 visited one Khairul Haque’s residence in relation to a dowry case. Khairul who had separated from his wife was asked to return the dowry which she brought at the time of her wedding.

    But as per information available, Khairul’s family and relatives physically assaulted the cops leaving them severely injured. The women police personnel were also allegedly assaulted by Khairul’s family members. Reports also claimed that the accused also tore their uniforms.
