Section 144 CrPC Clamped In Hailakandi

The order will remain in force until further orders

The Hailakandi district administration over apprehensions of breach of public peace and tranquillity has clamped Section 144 CrPC in the entire district with immediate effect.

The order was issued by Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli on October 21st, 2019.

The order prohibits an assembly of five or more persons in public places, taking out rallies, staging dharnas and making out inflammatory speeches.

The prohibitory orders have been taken following reports that some miscreants and groups of people of Ainakhal and Monacherra gaon panchayats and adjoining areas under Lala Police Station are trying to indulge in violence and create communal tension.

The order warns that anyone violating the order will be punished under various provisions of the IPC and will remain in force until further orders.
