The Rapid Antibody tests scheduled from April 22nd, 2020 has been suspended for the next two days as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) advised the states to wait for at least two days as some irregularities are being still being investigated.
On Tuesday, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he rapid tests in the state will begin starting from the Spanish Garden in Guwahati which currently is a designated containment zone.
However, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) advised the states not to use the rapid testing kits for the next two days, as some irregularities are being still being investigated.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “From April 22, we shall begin Rapid Antibody tests, from Spanish Garden – a containment zone.”
He added that the Government of India has given 9600 Rapid Antibody test kits for Immunoglobulin M (IgM) and Immunoglobulin G (IgG) to Coronavirus. “The test is non-confirmatory yet useful for mass surveillance in containment areas as it gives results in 15 minutes”, He added.
