Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said that the opposition should work together with the government in the migrant issue.
Speaking about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi meeting the migrants, Sitharaman said that the issue was being “politicized”.
She even claimed Rahul Gandhi’s act of meeting and sitting with some of the stranded migrants as “dramebazi”. She claimed that instead of sitting with the migrants, Rahul Gandhi should have carried their suitcases or walked with them.
She added that the Opposition party must work together with the government on the issue of migrants.
The minister added, “We are working with all states on this issue of these migrants and with folded hands, I ask Sonia Gandhi that we must speak and deal with our migrants more responsibly.”
Speaking on GST, she further added the government is periodically talking about it. GST dues of all states are pending for the months of December, January, February, March.
She further informed about the health related steps taken so far for COVID-19 containment.
She informed that an amount of Rs 15,000 crore while the total amount released to states is Rs 4113 crore and for essential items is Rs 3750 crore. Apart from these for testing labs and kits the amount released is Rs 550 crore.
