Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Pratap Chandra Sarangi chaired a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Janata Bhawan and urged that the state government should popularize organic farming and promote value addition of spices to fetch good prices in the international markets.
The Union Minister also discussed ways to boost fish and milk production and measures to spur MSME growth in Assam.
“Held a meeting with Assam CM Shri Sarbananda Sonowal at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati. Ways to boost fish and milk production and measures to spur MSME growth in Assam were discussed among others.” Sarangi wrote on his Twitter.
Sarangi also met Assam Minister of Industries and Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary and discussed on the overall growth of the MSME sector here in the state.
In the meeting, Patowary highlighted that the MSME sector is a dominant factor for the growth of the industrial scenario of the state. It also generates maximum employment with minimum capital and is one of the major contributors to the economic growth of the state.
In the meeting, matters related to MSME schemes like tool room, extension centre, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), industrial infrastructure improvement and so on were discussed.
After the meeting, Sarangi assured that all help will be provided to expedite and sanction projects related to the MSME scheme in the areas of entrepreneurship skill development, procurement and marketing support, setting up of incubation centre for food processing, etc.
