    KMSS Activist Thrashed By AAMSU Leaders In Dibrugarh

    The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti activist has been identified as Dhruba Gogoi

    A Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) activist was thrashed black and blue for allegedly demanding money from All Assam Students’ Minorities Union (AAMSU) activists in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh on February 28th, 2020.

    The incident took place inside Jain Hotel in the town. A video of the incident, which went viral, shows that the KMSS activist, identified as Dhruba Gogoi, was beaten by four persons severely. The AAMSU leaders have been identified as Imtiaz Ali and Pankaj Paul.

    Speaking to media persons, Imtiaz said, “He (Dhruba Gogoi) demanded Rs 1 lakh from us saying that we have a fake license to operate our tea business.” He further said that the KMSS activist misbehaved us.

    The Dibrugarh Sadar police detained four persons in connection with the case. Police also picked up Dhruba Gogoi for interrogation into the matter.

    Later, a number of organisations including Dibrugarh district unit of the All Assam Students’ Union and Matak Yuva Chatra Sanmilan gheraoed the police station demanding exemplary punishment to the accused.
