The adrenaline rush of flying is something very different. If the view is beautiful, it makes your flight all the more beautiful. With an aim to boost tourism, the Tripura government has introduced a helicopter, named as ‘Tripura Hawai Safar’.
The tour package at present is available on Sunday’s only. It was introduced in the month of September 2019. A traveller can avail the ‘Tripura Hawai Safar’ services to visit Devatamura in Gomati district and Unnakoti hills in Unnakoti district.
The Tripura Tourism took to Facebook to urge the tourists to visit the state and enjoy a helicopter ride.”The thrill of flying and the glorious views from the top is an experience that you will always remember.”
The tour package will start and end in Agartala and for more details, people can contact the tourism office located in Swetmahal, Agartala. Also, bookings need to be done manually in the office and the ticket price per person is Rs 14,000 which will include, the helicopter tour, sightseeing, AC car rental from Agartala to the airport and from the helipad to destinations, boat fares, accommodation for the pilot and many more.
The duration of the helicopter journey will be of a day and it will start at 8 am in the morning from Agartala airport and will end at 3:40 pm in the evening at the starting point. The reservation is not transferable and one needs to have a valid photo ID at the time of registration in the airport.
Devtamura is a hill range in South Tripura district and is known for an archaeological site of rock sculptures, a panel of carved images, on the bank of Gomati River. The stone images are reported to mark the revival of Brahmanism during the 15/16th century when influence Buddhism waned in India.
On the other hand, Unakoti hill literally means one less a koti in Bengali, hosts an ancient Shaivite place of worship with huge rock reliefs celebrating Shiva.
