    Unclean Ice-cream Factory Shut Down In Guwahati’s Lokhra

    The compnay didn’t conform with the sanitary and hygiene requirements and other food measures

    The Food Safety Department has issued a closure notice to an ice-cream factory located at Kotkipara at Lokhra in Guwahati on October 1st, 2019 for failing to maintain the basic hygiene standards. The company manufactures falooda.

    During an inspection carried out by the Gorchuk Police and sleuths of Food Safety Department of Kamrup (Metropolitan) District, it was found that the manufacturing unit didn’t conform with the sanitary and hygiene requirements and other food measures.

    “For a long time, the company was manufacturing ice-cream near a lavatory,” said a local. The staffers of the company fled from the spot with the arrival of the officials. The company has been shut down for an indefinite period.
