    Pradip Kurbah’s Khasi Film ‘Iewduh’ To Have Its World Premiere At Busan Film Festival

    Shot entirely in Shillong city of Meghalaya, the film shows the crowded, bustling local market called lewduh

    National award-winning filmmaker Pradip Kurbah’s Khasi film Iewduh will have its world premiere at the forthcoming Busan International Film Festival 2019 before its Indian premiere at the 21st Mumbai Film Festival.

    Iewduh portrays the lives of everyday people with everyday stories, not dignified as heroes, but nevertheless people who make the lives of each other better. Shot entirely in Shillong city of Meghalaya, it shows the crowded, bustling local market called lewduh. It completely reflects the lifestyle of the people in the congested lanes where life is all about making a living for oneself.

    Iewduh is produced by Shankar Lall Goenka and the trailer will be out on September 9th, 2019 at around 11 am.

    Busan International Film Festival is annually held in Busan, South Korea and it is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. This year it is the festival’s 24th edition and it will start from October 3rd, 2019 and it will conclude on October 12th, 2019.

    It may be mentioned here that Kurbah’s film Onaatah-of the earth which won him a national award will be re-made in Marathi by Satish Kaushik. The movie will hit the theatres on October 11th, 2019 and it is named as Mann Udhan Vaara.

    Onaatah won the best Khasi language film award at the 63rd National Film Awards and the plot revolves around a young woman who retreats to a small village by the hills where she finds hope, love and a new purpose for life after going through a traumatic phase.

    Onaatah had also won the Audience Choice Award at the Indian Film Festival this year. The film was also selected for Indian Panorama at the 47th International Film Festival of India.
