Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal turned nostalgic on October 1st, 2019 when he visited the famous Gajraj Hotel in Bokakhat town. He also enjoyed a hearty meal of puri and aloo bhaji with his colleagues.
Bokakhat is known for its delicious peda prepared with khoya/mawa. The lip-smacking puri sabzi traditionally served in the banana leaves is a speciality of this hotel. “I really love this dish and have a lot of memories attached to the meal. The tempting aroma…it is not easy to stop yourself from eating it,” said Sonowal while speaking to media persons.
The Chief Minister took to Twitter to share his experience and wrote, “#JanSampark at Gajraj Hotel, a place filled with memories of my younger days. Enjoyed the iconic ‘puris & pedas’ with colleagues Phanindra Nath Sarma, Shri @jbhuyan65 and the people of Bokakhat as we talked about a resurgent #NewIndia led by PM Shri @narendramodi ji,”.
As a part of the Jan Sampark Abhiyan, the Chief Minister is meeting people to highlight the achievements of NDA Government. At the Gajraj Hotel, he spoke at length about the ‘New India’ under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which includes the economic reforms, development initiatives at the Centre and state and also the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.
