Are you a music band based in Nagaland’s Tuensang district? Don’t know where to show your musical skills? Don’t worry, here is the chance to make people tap their feet on your tunes.
The Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland has collaborated with the Tuensang Hills Accolade Society (THAS) Tuensang to organize a Band Beat contest under the theme ‘A Ticket To Hornbill’. The winner of this contest from Tuensang district will perform in the Hornbill Music Festival, 2019 which is also called the ‘Festival of Festivals’.
The contest will be held on September 27th, 2019 at the Tuensang Town Hall and the society has requested all the locals to come forward and support the young talents.
Like every year, Hornbill Music Festival will start from December 1st, 2019 and it will conclude on December 10th, 2019 and the venue this year will be Dimapur.
It may be mentioned, the Hornbill Festival organized by the State Tourism and Art & Culture Departments is a mélange of cultural displays under one roof.
Soon after announcing the contest, the THAS asked the artistes from Tuensang district to not miss this golden opportunity. Also, the society has requested the Churches within the district to promote young talents to participate in the Gospel band and Church Choirs.
The winning Choir team of the district will get a chance to sing at the Nagaland Choirs Olympics grand finale which will be held on October 23rd, 2019 at RCEMPA Jotsoma in Kohima. The winner of this grand finale will further perform in the World Choir games 2020 which will be held in Belgium.
