    My Father’s Sacrifice Will Not Go In Vain: Daughter Of Martyr Maneshwar Basumatary

    Didwm Shree Basumatary, daughter of  Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Maneshwar Basumatary, who attained martyrdom in the Pulwama terror attack, said that her father’s sacrifice would not go in vain. Didwm Shree joined in as the Assistant Tourist Information Officer under Directorate of Tourism, Assam on March 7th, 2019.

    Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on March 3rd, 2019 handed over the appointment letter to Didwm Shree on the occasion of Maneshwar’s aadyashraddha at Kolbari village in Tamulpur in Assam’s Baksa district.

    Didwm Shree along with her mother Sunmati and several other family members came down to Guwahati on March 8th, 2019. She joined in as the Assistant Tourist Information Officer at the Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, located in Paltan Bazaar.

    “My daughter is going a start a new chapter of her life. I asked her to remember and acknowledge her father’s sacrifice in each and every step of her life. I  am thankful to the Assam government for providing this opportunity to my daughter,” Sunmati said.

    A convoy consisting of 78 vehicles carrying 2,547 CRPF jawans was attacked by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14th, 2019. The convoy was heading from the transit camp in Jammu to Srinagar.

    At least 44 jawans were martyred in the Pulwama attack that took place at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir where a JeM terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus carrying CRPF personnel. The vehicle used by the terrorists was a Mahindra Scorpio carrying more than 350 kg of explosives.
