Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on August 17th, 2019 announced that Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman’s music institution KM Music Conservatory has become the knowledge partner for the Nagaland government’s Task Force For Music And Arts (TaFMA).
“We are grateful to A.R. Rahman. With your experience and knowledge, our music fraternity will be greatly benefited and it will inspire the youth of #Nagaland to reach out for their aspirations and dream bigger.” Rio wrote on his Twitter.
To which the music legend retweeted that he is “honoured” to partner with the Nagaland government that will empower the local musicians of the state. The partnership is believed to empower the Nagaland music industry and taking it to greater heights.
KM Music Conservatory is a higher education institution founded in 2008 by the A R Rahman foundation. Located in Arumbakkam, Chennai, the conservatory offers a range of part-time and full-time courses in Hindustani and Western classical music and music technology.
Rahman is currently the head principal of the music conservatory.
