    Morigaon DC and SP Tested Negative For COVID-19

    Morigaon DC and SP were put under quarantine after they came in direct contact with COVID19 patients

    Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Morigaon district who were quarantined earlier on Thursday as they were suspected to have in direct contact with some novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patients were tested negative for the virus.

    This was announced by Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. 

    The minister said, “Happy to inform that DC and SP of Morigaon district have tested negative. It is a big relief for Team Morigaon and for us.”

    The health department earlier directed Deputy Commissioner Rituraj Bora and Superintendent of Police Swanpaneel Deka to immediately go into quarantine as they were suspected to have in direct contact with some COVID-19.

    Along with these to top officials namely, few journalists were also asked to go to quarantine as they were said to have come in contact with two COVID-19 positive persons on March 31st, 2020.

    The officers and the journalists reportedly came in contact with the COVID-19 positive persons in Bhuragaon in the District.

    However, the health department is yet to release the test reports of the journalists quarantined along with the top officials.
