Winter chill intensified in Assam’s Guwahati as light shower lashed the city on January 3rd, 2020. The vendors on the streets along with other people tied-up together to burn bonfires to keep themselves warm in this bone-chilling cold.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle on with the possibility of maximum temperature settling at 25 degree Celsius and minimum 14 degree Celsius respectively. The downpour also caused traffic snarls in several parts of the city.

People were seen drinking tea at the roadside tea stalls as the temperature dipped in Guwahati. On January 4th, 2019 too, Guwhati will experience light rain or drizzle on with the possibility of maximum temperature settling at 24 degree Celsius and minimum 14 degree Celsius respectively.
However, rail and flight operations in Guwhati were going on as per schedule at the time of filing this report.
Guwahati to witness a dense layer of fog on January 5th, 6th and 7th, 2020 with the maximum temperature settling at 24 degree Celsius and minimum 10 degree Celsius respectively.
