    Lakhimpur Youth Arrested For Credit Card Fraud In Guwahati

    He was arrested on charges of looting a Guwahati family to the tune of Rs 50,000 by misusing their bank account details

    The Basistha Police have arrested a youth from Lakhimpur district on charges of looting a Guwahati family to the tune of Rs 50,000 by misusing their bank account details and unauthorized transactions.

    According to reports, the accused who identified himself as Nakul Bora at first addressed himself to be an employee of Axis Bank and approached the family with credit card application.

    After availing all the relevant documents of the customer named Aminul Islam and his wife, the accused allegedly stole the credit card credentials and did an unlawful transaction amounting to Rs 50,000.

    The incident came to light after Bora stopped receiving calls from the family and the victim smelled a rat and approached the police. Islam informed that the accused has been plundering several other bank customers over the pretext of a fake identity.

    Reports also claimed that the accused youth runs a fake Facebook account which goes by the name Babu Borah and approaches customers for various bank loans.

    Meanwhile, the accused has accepted to have been involved in bank frauds.
