Kokrajhar MP Naba Sarania To Form Party To Wipe Out BJP

BTC formation in 2003 was a mistake of the government: Naba Kumar Sarania

Kokrajhar parliamentarian Naba Kumar Sarania on January 20th, 2020, said that he would form a new political party before All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) forms to annihilate Bharatiya Janata Party from Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).

Addressing a press conference here in Guwahati today, Sarania said, “We will form a new political party to wipe out the ruling BJP from BTC before AASU forms any party.”

Alleging that the decision of the government to form the BTC in 2003 was a mistake, Sarania said, “The previsions government made a mistake by forming the BTC in 2003. I urge the government not to repeat any mistake by forming the Union Territorial Council.” He further appealed the government to rectify the mistake. “If the government forms the UTC, end of BJP is confirmed,” he added.

While urging the government not to divide the state by forming the UTC, the MP said, “We will accept UTC if the state is not divided. The government must ensure all-round development of each and every community of the BTAD.”

It is pertinent to be mentioned that the Bodoland Peoples’ Front MP Biswajit Daimary on August 5th, 2019, had demanded the government to grant UTC status to BTC.

Moreover, talking about the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra’s joining the peace talk process with the government of India, Sarania said, “The present BTC body is hatching a conspiracy to extend the council’s election by six months citing the peace talks. It is a lame excuse.” He further demanded that the council’s election must be conducted on time.

He urged the government not to dismiss the cases against NDFB even though they have joined the peace talk process.

On January 16th, 2020, The Saoraigwra faction of the NDFB-S signed the tripartite Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with the Indian government.
