A photograph of a girl student appearing the on-going High School Leaving Certificate(HSLC) examinations unbothered by societal discrimination and zeroed in on her school notes are doing rounds in the social media for all the right reasons.
The girl Pooja Sharma hails from Porbotia village located in Jorhat West Tehsil of the district. Her undeterred dedication towards her studies to fair-good in her board exams has drawn inspiration for many.
Spreading a waterproof tirpal canvas, the girl is often seen sitting under the open sky with her school bag aside reading books and completing assignments, grabbing eyeballs of the passersby. Pooja’s struggle has apparently turned into a driving force for others to focus on their goals and work towards achieving them.
As the clock turns 8 in the morning both Pooja and her mother Baijayanti Devi leave from their house donning their resolute masks on to take on the world. While the former leaves for her school the latter leaves for jail road in the husting city to reach her workplace. Baijayanti works as a helping hand at a hotel named Maa Laxmi.
After the school gets over Pooja does not take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city but insists on finding peace at the pavement to reach her goals.
After completing her studies she dreams of getting enrolled at the Jagannath Barooah College affiliated to Dibrugarh University. She says she aspires to become a doctor or impart education and turn into an instructor.
