    Hero’s Welcome Awaiting NDFB Leaders in Assam

    Special arrangements are made followed by a cultural program and a grand feast

    A hero’s welcome awaits the leaders of all the factions of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland post the inking of the historic Bodo Accord. A grand felicitation programme followed by a colourful cultural programme and a grand feast is awaiting for the leaders when they reach Assam from New Delhi on January 28th, 2020.

    The group is expected to reach Guwahati’s LGBI airport via Bagdogra at 10 am on January 28th, 2020. The group will then head towards Chirang district for a mass gathering.

    Another mass gathering will be organized in the BTAD on February 5th, 2020 in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

    1,550 cadres along with 130 weapons will surrender on January 30th, 2020 informed Shah on January 27th, 2020 after signing of the accord. Another, arms laying down ceremony will reportedly be organised on February 15th, 2020 at the designated camp in Udalguri.

    “This agreement will ensure a golden future for Assam and for the Bodo people. As the Home Minister, I want to assure the representatives that all promises will be fulfilled in a time-bound manner,” he said.

    The four factions of the NDFB, which signed the pact, are led by Ranjan Daimary, Govinda Basumatary, Dhiren Boro and B Saoraigwra. The All Bodo Students’ Union was the key signatory of the Bodo Accord.

    Celebrations have gripped the region as the youth came out in large numbers to congratulate and celebrate the signing of the third Bodo Accord which provides more administrative power to the region.
