Dhemaji: Continuous downpour in the administrative district of Dhemaji has led to flooding in parts of the district causing inconvenience for commuters. Rail connectivity was disrupted after the Jiadhal river of the district known for catastrophic flood turned violent due to heavy rainfall and floods.
The rail connectivity came to a standstill after the floodwaters washed away the railway embankment and Hesuli bridge connecting Dhemaji and Bordoloni stations today.
While the Murkongselek – Rangiya Passenger was short terminated at Dhemaji and the Naharlagun – Tinsukia Intercity Express was short terminated at Baginadi.
Meanwhile, railway engineers have continued restoration efforts so that the railway services can be resumed soon.
