With lockdown being imposed since the past 15 days due novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak , people have been struggling to get meat products and to coupe up with this shortage, Kamrup (Metro) district administration might allow the home delivery of chicken and fish within the next two days in Guwahati.

A source said that since the demand for the poultry or meat products has increased among the people and there are several reports that people have been venturing out too long distances in search of meat, the administration is considering the home delivery of meat and fish in Guwahati.

However, this particular step will be taken only after reviewing the current situation of the city.

Over the past few days, people were seen venturing out in search of meat and there are even reports that some of the meat sellers have been selling meat products at a very exaggerated price.
