The traffic speed was very slow on the Lalganesh-Ganesh Mandir route and GS Road in Guwahati

It was the usual story in Guwahati after a sudden shower splashed the city on September 17th, 2019. Traffic chaos was seen in several places. The vehicles were seen crawling on the city roads as rainwater accumulated on the streets.

The traffic speed was very slow on the Lalganesh-Ganesh Mandir route and GS Road. Traffic congestion was also witnessed on Zoo Road. Several parts of Nabin Nagar, Anil Nagar were also flooded.

Due to the short-term shower, the roads were waterlogged and vehicles stuck creating gridlocks. The traffic came to a standstill at several places due to the flash flood causing inconveniences to the pedestrians and motorists rushing to their respective destinations.

An irked citizen said, “The concerned department must take measures to fix the flash flood issues in Guwahati. Every time it showers, it causes severe inconvenience to the commoners.”
