Xomonnoy has lined up a colourful programme with a "special surprise' at the end"

To celebrate the one-year completion of the scrapping of Section 377 by the Supreme Court of India, Xomonnoy, a Guwahati based intersectional queer feminist group is organising a celebratory programme at the Guwahati Town Club Hall on September 8th, 2019.

The programme has been titled Ullakh, which will be a spectrum of skill sets of more than 25 performances.

From hip hop, folk and modern dance to poetry recitation, storytelling, rap and singing to skit performances, Xomonnoy has lined up a colourful programme with a “special surprise’ at the end”.

It may be mentioned, the draconian Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code was struck down by the Supreme Court of India on September 6th, 2018, thereby decriminalising homosexuality.
