    Former Bureaucrat MGVK Bhanu Quits Congress

    Bhanu lost to BJP candidate Pallab Lochan Das in the last General Elections

    MGVK Bhanu, former IAS officer and Congress candidate for Tezpur constituency in the last Lok Sabha polls, has resigned from Congress party on October 29th, 2019.

    Bhanu lost to BJP candidate Pallab Lochan Das in the last General Elections. Bhanu who joined the Congress on February 11th, 2019 was an IAS officer of 1985 batch. He retired as the additional chief secretary to the Assam government on July 31st, 2018.

    Bhanu who hails from Andhra Pradesh was very close to Congress stalwart Tarun Gogoi when the latter was serving as the Chief Minister of Assam.

    Bhanu purportedly kept himself aloof from the party during the last by-polls which was held on October 21st, 2019.
