An FIR has been lodged against nearly 50 celebrities including eminent personalities Mani Ratnam and Aparna Sen for writting an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the growing cases of mob violence.
The case has been registered at Muzzafarpur in Bihar after an order was passed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Surya Kant Tiwari on a petition filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha.
As per reports, the court had passed the order on August 20th, 2019 and accordingly a case was registered against nearly 50 signatories of the letter who were held accused in the petition. They were alleged for “tarnishing the image of the country and undermining the impressive performance of the prime minister” and “supporting secessionist tendencies”.
