The Nagaon police seized counterfeit currency notes worth Rs four lakh of denomination of Rs 500 in Assam’s Nagaon district. The police also seized a machine used in printing the fake notes from one Khirod Burhagohain’s residence in Gendhali in the district on the night of August 24th, 2019, police said.
Nagaon Additional Superintendent of Police Rosie Kalita, while briefing the media about the operation, said, “We conducted the operation on special inputs at Khirod Burhagohain’s residence. Later, we conducted the operation at Sonaibali and Amoni also.”
“A total of six persons have been arrested in this connection,” she added. The arrested accused are Suruj Ali, Rashid Ali and Billal Hussain of Bihpuria and Mahim Gogoi, Khirod Burhagohain and Kamal Uddin of
