A Class 10 board examinations appearing student ended her life by allegedly consuming poisonous substance in Lower Assam’s Barpeta district.
As per reports, the student is suspected to have taken the adverse step after she was expelled by the invigilators for using unfair means while sitting for her Arabic language examinations.
The incident is reported from Borbhitha, Padmapara village under Tarabari PS. The student reportedly committed suicide last Friday and was subsequently admitted at Chenga Primary Health Care Unit and later shifted to Guwahati hospital for higher treatment. She breathed her last on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the student’s mother has alleged harassment by the examiner.
It may be mentioned that from this year onwards, any student found engaging in malpractice during the ensuing HSLC/AHM examinations will be expelled for three years. The students and invigilators are not allowed to carry a mobile phone or any electronic device inside the hall.
A total of 3.58 lakh students are appearing for the Assam HSLC Exam 2020 which will conclude on February 29th, 2020.
A total of 12 visually challenged students are appearing in their HSLC exam in specially designated five examination centres.
