    Dreaded NDFB Cadres Arrested In Assam’s Chirang

    Police also recovered one hand-made pistol and four rounds live cartridges from the possession of the accused

    Acting on a tip-off, the Indian Army and the Chirang police on January 1st, 2020 night arrested two suspected linkman of the armed separatist outfit National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB).

    The cadres were arrested at Bengtol under Runikhata Police Station in Assam’s Chirang district. They have been identified as Laben Mushahary, 24, of Santipara and Petrus Narzary, 50, of Bishpani in Runikhata.

    Police also recovered one hand-made pistol, four rounds live cartridges, one mobile phone, one Bhutanese SIM card and an amount of Rs 9990 in cash from the possession of the accused. “The accused have confessed before the police during interrogation that they have a link with the NDFB,” Chirang Superintendent of Police, Sudhakar Singh said.

    A case (No 01/2020) under sections 120B, 121, 122 and 384 of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant act has been registered against the accused.
