A man, who arrived at Dibrugarh from Malaysia, have been placed in isolation for suspected coronavirus (COVID-19), officials said on February 15th, 2020.
The man was quarantined at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH). As per reports, he returned from Malaysia on February 7th, 2020. He will be monitored for 14 days by a specialised team of doctors.
Symptoms of COVID-19 were detected in the man after he returned from Malaysia where he works. A special isolation ward has been made ready at the AMCH for coronavirus-affected patients.
It may be noted, no positive case of coronavirus reported in Assam till date. Kerala reported three positive coronavirus cases in India.
Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare recently said that India is prepared through its various timely measures and sturdy systems of surveillance for coronavirus.
