AIUDF MLA of Assam’s Dhing constituency, Aminul Islam was arrested by Nagaon Police in the wee hours of April 7th, 2020.
As per reports, Islam was arrested on charges of allegedly posting provocative statements on Nizamuddin Markaz attendees on social media.
He was picked up by Nagan Police for questioning on the night of April 6th, 2020. The MLA is likely to be brought to Guwahati.
Earlier this year, Islam sparked another controversy saying that Ahoms are not indigenous people in Assam.
