    Conrad Launches #ShillongMyPassion To Beat Plastic Menace

    Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma mentioned that the campaign is a "movement of the people"

    To beat the plastic menace and with a pledge to make Shillong cleaner and greener, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on September 7th, 2019 launched a campaign called #ShillongMyPassion in the state’s capital Shillong.

    Launching the campaign Sangma said, “Plastic is the biggest problem that our country is facing right now, therefore, it is very important that single-use plastic must be banned completely. We should completely stop using plastic as I do.”

    He added, “You will not find plastic bottles in my office, we avoid using plastic files. So, I urge people of the state to avoid using plastic in their day to day life whenever and wherever it is possible.”

    In a series of tweets, Sangma mentioned that the campaign is a “movement of the people”.” He also said that the campaign is not just a cleanliness drive but a way to “reconnect with the government.”
