The Rupahihat police on August 10th, 2019 arrested a Congress worker on charges of posting communally sensitive and pro-Pakistan posts on the social media networking site Facebook opposing the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
The man has been identified as Hasen Ali and he is a resident of Laukhuwa in Samaguri circle of Nagaon district. As per reports, Hasen had shared a series of videos from a page called Pakistani Gorrilla with the caption ‘I love Pak Army’. He was arrested based on a complaint registered by one Jayanta Mandal in the Rupahihat Police Station.
It may be mentioned, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on August 5th, 2019, moved a resolution at the Rajya Sabha to scrap the provisions of Article 370 of Constitution in J&K and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories.
The Lok Sabha on August 6th, 2019 cleared the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill that seeks to scrap Article 370 and Article 35A in J&K.
