Come Forward And Get Tested For COVID-19: Himanta To Nizamuddin Markaz Attendees From Assam

Six people who attended the convention died of coronavirus, Telangana government authorities confirmed on March 30th, 2020

The Assam Government has urged the people who had attended the Nizamuddin Markaz congregation in Delhi earlier this month to voluntarily report to the nearest hospital. The area has now emerged as the biggest coronavirus hotspot in India.

As per reports, around 216 people from Assam and five from Meghalaya attended the convention by the Islamic preachers held by the Tabligh-e-Jamaat in Delhi from March 1st-15th, 2020.

“If there is anyone from Assam who attended the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, please IMMEDIATELY report voluntarily to the nearest government hospital or by calling Helpline no # 104,” Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet.

Six people who attended the convention died of highly contagious novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Telangana government authorities confirmed on March 30th, 2020.

The Delhi Police has cordoned off the area around the Markaz Masjid located around 100 metres from the Nizamuddin dargah where around 200 people showed symptoms of COVID-19 after taking part in a religious gathering a few days ago.

As reported, around 1,830 people from different parts of the country and Asia had attended the convention.

Delhi Police said the convention was organised without the permission from the authorities. While many returned home after the congregation, others stayed back at the mosque.

Kejriwal on March 30th, 2020 has ordered the registration of an FIR against a Maulana of Markaz in connection with the congregation in West Nizamuddin in South Delhi.
