    Check Now: Assam NRC Final Status Of Accepted, Excluded People Published Online

    A total of 3,11,21,004 persons were found eligible for inclusion in the list published on August 31st, 2019

    The Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC) list with individual statuses of all the 3.30 crore applicants was published online on September 14th, 2019. All the individuals in Assam who had applied for the inclusion of their names in the NRC list can now check their status on the official website of NRC – www.thefinalnrc.in.

    The list which was published on September 14th, 2019 includes the names of those who have been accepted as the citizens of Assam, excluded and those whose appeals and claims are pending.

    A total of 3,11,21,004 persons were found eligible for inclusion in the list while a total of 19,06,657 people were found ineligible including who did not submit claims in the last published updated NRC list on August 31st, 2019.

    Here’s how you can check your names in the final family NRC list:

    •   Visit the NRC website – www.nrcassam.nic.in

    •  Click on the tab showing ‘Results for all NRC applicants as per Draft…’

    •   Enter your ARN number to check your name

    •   Enter the CAPTCHA code

    •   The names of the applicants will appear on the screen if it has been included in the final Assam NRC list.

    The objective behind the updation of the NRC is aimed at segregating Indian citizens living in Assam from those who had illegally entered the state from the neighbouring country Bangladesh.

    Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs on September 12th, 2019 said that the 19 lakh people who were excluded from the list will have adequate legal options to contest their exclusion.

    The excluded persons can approach the Foreigners’ Tribunals and appeal against their exclusions within 120 days of the publication of the final list. State NRC Coordinator mentioned in a statement the process of collection of the orders passed by the NRC officers is being carried out to enable early availability of the certified copies of rejection from final NRC list to the public to file appeals.
