Guwahati: A strong 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck India’s northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh on July 19th, 2019. The jolts were felt across the Northeast, including in Guwahati.
The epicentre of the shallow quake is East Kameng, which is about 100 kilometres northwest of Itanagar, 61 kilometres northeast of Bomdila and 315 kilometres east of Thimpu, Bhutan.
It struck at 2.52 pm. Arunachal Pradesh is home to more than 1.2 million people and also borders Myanmar and Bhutan. No casualties have been reported till now.
