Expressing solidarity with the mob violence at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, the Cotton University students on January 8th, 2020 hoisted black flags at the entrance gate.
As many as five black flags were being hoisted at the entrance gate of the University today.
The incident of the brutal attack on the students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, that took place on January 5th, 2020, triggered protests across the nation and abroad. Students of colleges and universities across the world condemned the incident.
The Students’ Federation of India and All India Students’ Association (AISA) activists have been burning effigies of PM Modi in parts of Assam condemning the barbaric attack on the JNU students on Sunday evening. The activists demanded appropriate action against the miscreants.
Delhi Police has registered an FIR against (JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and 19 others for attacking security guards and vandalising the server room on January 4th, 2020.
Violence broke out at JNU on January 5th, 2020 after masked men armed with sticks, iron rods and stones attacked students and teachers and vandalised property on the campus. The JNUSU and the ABVP blamed each other for the violence that continued for over two hours.
