    Ranjeet Dass To Be Reoppinted As Assam BJP’s Party Chief On Jan 18

    Dass was elected as BJP Assam President on January 30th, 2017

    The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam on January 17th, 2020 said it will elect its new party president on January 18th, 2020.

    Incumbent president Ranjeet Kumar Dass will be reappointed as the party head. A BJP legislator from Sarbhog constituency, his term has expired on December 16th, 2019.

    The programme will be held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra. Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, North East Democratic Alliance convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma along with other party leaders and karyakartas will be present at the programme.

    Das became a member of the BJP in 1992. From 2011 to 2016, he was the deputy leader of the BJP in the Assam Legislative Assembly.

    He was elected as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in June 2016. He was elected as BJP Assam President on January 30th, 2017.
