The Tingkhang police on January 20, 2020, arrested Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti(KMSS), Dibrugarh unit Joint Secretary Shashi Senchowa from his residence in Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district.

He was arrested based on a police case no 335/19 registered against him at Moran PS case under section 436 of the IPC(Mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house, etc).

As per reports, the leader has been accused of setting fire to a Panchayat office in Lengeri Village in Khowang Tehsil and escalating tension during the anti-CAA protests in Assam.
