Tamulpur: The troops of the Indian Army recovered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from a residential house in Rangia in the morning hours of July 28th, 2019. Acting on a tip-off, the security forces recovered the explosive in Khandikar village from the house of one Tarikul Islam.
Sources informed that the IED was recovered near a ‘dheki’ or old-style rice mill/husk lever triggering a huge sensation among the public. The security forces have cordoned off the area and are maintaining strict vigil.
On the other hand, the villagers accused the Army of ‘planting’ the IED and ‘harassing common man’.
UPDATE: The IED has been successfully defused by the bomb squad
