In a shocking incident, an High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinee, allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a train at Boko in Kamrup district of Assam on the night of February 21st, 2020. The deceased student was a resident of Chukuniapara.
According to the family members, the deceased was under depression over his preparations for examinations which began on February 10th, 2020. As per the locals, the deceased student left behind three suicide notes written in Bodo language for his family.
He was badly crushed under the train and died on the spot, the locals said. The body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for post mortem. The investigation into the matter is on, police said.
It may be mentioned, an HSLC examinee ended her life allegedly after consuming poisonous substance in Lower Assam’s Barpeta district. As per reports, the student is suspected to have taken the adverse step after she was expelled by the invigilators for using unfair means during Arabic examination.
A total of 3.58 lakh students would be appearing for the Assam HSLC Exam 2020 which will conclude on February 29th, 2020. This year, 3,48,739 HSLC candidates and 9,707 AHM candidates would appear for the Class 10 board examination in 860 centres across the State.
