A fresh encounter has broken out in Awantipora town of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir in the morning hours of January 25th, 2020 between terrorists and the security forces.
As per initial reports, the encounter took place at around 9 am today when the security forces cordoned the area and launched a search operation. It is believed that at least 2-3 terrorists have been trapped.
The forces informed that the terrorists first open fired and they retaliated rigorously which turned into a gunfight.
Earlier on Friday, terrorists had lobbed a grenade in the Noorbagh area of Srinagar, the blue ticked Twitter handle of J&K police Tweeted.
Meanwhile, the terrorist killed in a gunfight in Pulwama district on January 22nd, 2020 has been identified as a “most wanted” terrorist from the proscribed Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit. He was operating under code names “Abu Saifullah” and “Abu Qasim”.
In a joint operation carried out by the CRPF, Rashtriya Rifles and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday killed two terrorists and an Indian soldier. The security forces paid rich tributes to the slain soldier.
