Assam Min Jogen Mohan Shown Black Flags In Gourisagar

The protesters also shouted anti-CAA and anti-government slogans while Mohan's convoy was passing through the route

Newly inducted in Sarbananda Sonowal’s Council of Ministers, Jogen Mohan was greeted with black flags on January 19th, 2020 in Sivasagar’s Gourisagar.

The activists of the All Assam Students Union waved black flags at him while the Mohan was travelling towards his own constituency, Mahmora.

The protesters also shouted anti-CAA and anti-government slogans while Mohan’s convoy was passing through the route.

The black flags waved by the anti-CAA protesters have become a symbol of protest against the BJP-led governments at the Centre and State for its alleged indifference to the people’s sentiments.

Sanjay Kishan and Mohan were sworn in as ministers in Sonowal’s ministry on January 18th, 2020. Governor Jagdish Mukhi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the two new ministers at a simple ceremony in the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhawan in Guwahati.

Mohan who was sworn in as minister of state with independent charge was given the portfolios of revenue and disaster management, PWD (assisting the cabinet minister).
