The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will install signal jammers to stop cellular phones disrupting the sanctity of the examination in sensitive exam halls to prevent students from cheating using any electronic device.
A total of 23 jammers will be installed in 25 sensitive examination centres in Assam. The students and invigilators are not allowed to carry a mobile phone or any electronic device inside the hall. The in-charge of the examination hall will be allowed to carry a mobile phone.
The District administrations have been directed imposed CrPC 144 in the examination centres to ensure that no one can come within 100 metres except the candidates and staff members involved in conducting the exam.
There will be CCTV surveillance in every exam centre and jammers will be installed in sensitive exam centres.
The HS or Class 12 examination will be held from February 12th to March 14th, 2020. This year, a total of 2,34,809 students would appear for the HS course final examination.
A total of 1,175,175 students in Arts stream, 40,588 in Science stream and 18,178 in Commerce stream would appear for the Class 12 Board examinations. On the other hand, a total of 868 students will appear in the Vocational stream.
A total of 772 examination centres have been set up this year. A total of 20 venue centres have been set up for students staying in remote areas.
The practical examination will be held from January 18th-30th, 2020. The examination will start from 9 am and the afternoon shift will start from 1:30 pm.
