Assam Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma on February 19th, 2020, said that the Bodoland Peoples’ Front is ready to share seats with the Asom Gana Parishad and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Bodoland territorial council’s general elections.
Speaking to the media persons, Brahma said, “BPF will continue alliance with the ruling BJP and the AGP and also share seats in the general elections of the Bodoland Territorial Council.”
Besides, talking about the National Democratic Front of Bodoland that signed the peace accord with Centre, Brahma said, “Their (NDFB) return to the mainstream is a welcome decision. They should work for the welfare of the community.” She further asked the NDFB not to join All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU).
Moreover, talking about the new political party, she said, “We could welcome the new political party if formed. They should also contest elections.”
Earlier, the BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said that the BPF will pocket the council by winning the elections with a huge margin.
